Astoria Playa Hotel - Alcudia

Since 2015 my sister & I have started a new tradition of having a little holiday every year, just the two of us and this years criteria was - somewhere with sunshine, that's relaxing, has a nice beach and no more than a 4 hour flight, after plenty of hours searching and going back and forth between Majorca and Greece, we opted for Majorca mainly because it was closer and worked out cheaper.

We booked 4 nights in Astoria Playa Hotel which is an Instagrammers paradise with it's modern, clean white decor with touches of grey & pink and I have to admit this was a huge selling point for me when I first came across it, the colour scheme alone just screams out to me and add on the fact that it's adults only and I was instantly sold.

As soon as I stepped into the lobby I knew I was going to love my stay, you're greeted with the most gorgeous scent that you can smell throughout the whole hotel and are seated at a desk to check in while sipping on a complimentary glass of water, wine or champagne, of course we opted for champagne because you'd have to be a little mad not to, right? Our bags we taken from us to be taken straight to our room, we definitely got that relaxed, on holiday, we're going to be doing nothing feeling straight away and it was bliss. Up in the lift to the 3rd floor and along the corridor, we were at our twin pool view room and for a moment there I could have walked in to and added room to my own home with it's grey and white colour scheme. The room wasn't overly large but we were in the smallest room they do and it was fine for the two of us, it was modern, lovely & bright with a good sized balcony that we took advantage of every evening, sitting outside drinking our cup of tea likes the old pair that we are haha, the bathroom was lovely and packed with toiletries that were restocked daily and had the most perfect, large shower that I could have stayed in all week, as I don't have a shower at home I love making the most of them when away especially when they're as wonderful as this one was.

The one huge stand out was the food, being a resort that offers half board which gave us a buffet breakfast & dinner, I wasn't expecting much from the food, I've stayed in those sorts of hotels before and they food can often be bland and very much the same but it definitely didn't fall in either of those categories here, everything was fresh, delicious and with lots of choice. The evening buffet was definitely my favourite with plenty of choice every evening and if you're a dessert person, then you'll be in heaven as there was so much choice to cater for your sweet tooth, including what quickly became my favourite and a nightly choice - ice cream with hairdo style sweets, marshmallows and chocolate toppings, it definitely catered for anyone who wants to make their inner child happy. The lunch time bar menu was also welcomed, the food was again, very tasty and extremely well priced with most things priced around €8-12, including this delicious burger pictured below.

The staff were all so friendly & welcoming too and with the hotel not being too large it never felt overly busy and had a nice atmosphere, we were greeted at breakfast and dinner everyday by the loveliest last whose name has since slipped by name annoyingly, but she was absolutely lovely and always checked everything was going ok with our stay, asking about our day and so on.
There was nothing to fault at all with the hotel, the location may not have been my kind of holiday destination but that aside, the hotel was perfect and I'd definitely love to return again in the near future.
