Spring wardrobe essentials

The evenings are lighter, the days are sunnier, the flowers are blooming and we're all finally starting to feel that dreary winter cloud lifting which can only mean one thing, it's Spring!
Summer is probably my most favourite time of the year but Spring comes a very, very close second. I love waving goodbye to those dark and dreary days, the dull wardrobe full of black and grey, hanging the coat up at last and finally seeing daylight beyond 5pm. It sure does feel good waking up with the sun shining through the blinds (ok, I'm in the UK so this isn't an everyday thing but when it does happen, it's great), it gone 6pm and it's still light out and those pretty spring colours are hanging in the wardrobe once again, for me reaching Spring just completely lifts my whole mood.

It's nice to go into my favourites clothes stores and see colour, pretty bright & pastel colours hanging from the rails rather than those dark, dreary winter colours and of course I love nothing updating my wardrobe with some new bits to celebrate the occasion. When it comes to Spring fashion, or any season, there is always those essential key pieces that we all need, and I wanted to share mine with you, along with some of my current favourite picks. Now I'm not saying you all must run out and grab said items because I'm no fashion expert, far from it because quite frankly I have an issue with clothes shopping, due to being 5ft I end up frustrated that nearly everything is too long and then I just turn to shoes and underwear because quite frankly, they don't let me down as much but just because I'm not an expert doesn't mean I can't share my ideas and tips with you, right?

Ripped/Distressed light jeans -

Most of us love our ripped or distressed jeans year round but it's great for Spring to finally come around and get the lighter denim out, I tend to live in black skinny jeans or dark denim in the winter months so I love lightening things up in the denim department come Spring/Summer,  lighter jeans are definitely a wardrobe essential for Spring.

A Jacket/Blazer -

Unfortunately Spring doesn't mean lovely warm sunny days constantly, sadly for us. And this of course means somedays, especially evenings something more than a top/cardigan is still needed, thankfully we don't need our big heavy coats but a jacket is an essential for another couple of months at least, thankfully there are some gorgeous pretty, colour Spring jackets out there.

Shirt/Blouse -

For a more smarter outfit there's nothing like the help of a pretty shirt/blouse and when it comes to Spring fashion there always seems to be some lovely ones in the shops, in the prettiest of pastel colours and patterns. Great to wear alone on those lovely warm days or layer it with your Spring jumper for those chillier moments.

Light Jumper -

The days of those heavy knit jumpers may be gone for at least 6/7 months but most of the days are still not hot enough for those strappy camis and I love pairing a nice light jumper, especially a stripped one with my ripped skinny jeans.

Floral Dress/Jumper -

No Spring wardrobe would be right without a key floral piece, whether it be a dress or skirt, you need your floral in there in my opinion. I used to be one of those that would shy away from the patterns for some reason and always stuck to my plain items or the most crazy I'd go was some stripes or polka dots but you'll definitely be seeing me picking up some floral this year.

Nude Shoes -

Along with the light denim, a pair of nude shoes is probably my next favourite Spring essential. Whether it be a pretty pair of casual flats or more dressier pair of heels, bring me all the flat shoes please. They go so well with nearly all those spring outfit choices & colours, see an absolute essential.
