Disney movie night #1

Later in the year my mum, sister and I are going on an exciting Disney trip, I'm not going to say much more than that at the moment as there will be plenty of posts about it in the future. However, I decided what better way to get our excitement up with every month it gets closer than a Disney movie night, so every 2nd Friday night of the month we'll get together for some tasty and hopefully Disney inspired (in some way at least) food and a movie.

Now, you're probably all wondering why this Belle loving princess didn't of course start of with the obvious film, Beauty and the beast, but we actually watched it not that long ago and I knew my mum and sister would prefer one they'd not seen recently and of course it wasn't that difficult to figure out what to pick. The little mermaid is another firm favourite of mine and I know my mum and sister have not seen it in years, I mean probably about 7+ years, I know shocking! Added to the fact that our Disney adventure will start in a Little Mermaid room at Art of Animation it seemed very fitting.
So with the film set I had to think up what food to do, I opted for Ariels seashell pasta which was actually shell pasta with chicken, Flounders fish & chips using the yummy fish & chip crisps, Scuttles salad, Sebastian's crab sticks. King Triton toast which was actually garlic bread, Ursula's ugly cheese, Chef Louis' cupcakes and finally Prince Eric's punch, everything went down a treat and the evening was so much fun and really got us even more excited for the holiday, if that was even possible.

  1. This is such a sweet idea to match the foods to the film! I'll definitely have to try this out soon. I especially love the 'Flounders fish & chips' - so cute!

    1. I have to admit this was probably one of the hardest films to think up the food ideas for and it took a lot of searching on the likes of Pinterest but I'm so glad with what I came up with in the end, oh those 'Flounders fish & chips' went down a treat, they're so tasty!

  2. Sounds like you guys had an awesome Disney movie night. I love the idea of matching the food to the movie, I might have to borrow that idea for our future movie nights :)

    1. It was perfect and I can't wait to host the next one in a couple of weeks. You'll have to let me know if you do, I want to hear what movie you pick and the treats to go with it

  3. This is such a brilliant idea! I love that you themed the snacks to your chosen film as well (I really want one of Chef Louis' cupcakes - they look delicious!). I'm going to Walt Disney World in April and I think I might have to nab this idea to really up the excitement in the run up to then!

    1. Thank you, the cupcakes were definitely the biggest hit of the night, they tasted so much better than they look (as always with my baking haha, really need to practise my decorating). Oh you definitely should, its a great way to really pump up the excitement levels and get in the Disney spirit before the trip.
